I'm pleased to share that Available Light Photography has been named a finalist in the 2026 Vancouver Island Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Awards, in the Customer Service & Sales category.
For a small, locally operated photography business, this is a particularly meaningful recognition. Building a business takes time, persistence, and a great deal of work behind the scenes. To have those efforts acknowledged through the BBB Torch Awards is an encouraging milestone.
More Than Just Photography
At Available Light Photography, I believe professional photography is about more than producing technically good images. It's about understanding the needs of each client, communicating clearly, being dependable, and delivering work that serves a genuine purpose.
Whether I'm photographing a corporate event, creating professional headshots, documenting a construction project, or producing imagery for a business's website and marketing materials, the goal is the same: provide a professional experience and deliver images that clients can use with confidence.
I also believe that good business relationships are built on trust. That means taking the time to understand a client's expectations, being transparent about services and pricing, and approaching every assignment with care and attention to detail.
Recognition That Means Something
The BBB Torch Awards recognize businesses that demonstrate a commitment to ethical business practices and building trust with their customers and communities.
Being named a finalist in the Customer Service & Sales category is especially meaningful because it recognizes an aspect of business that I consider just as important as the photography itself.
As an independent photographer based in Victoria, BC, building relationships within the local business community has always been an important part of my approach. I want Available Light Photography to be a business that clients feel comfortable returning to and recommending to others.
Looking Ahead
This recognition is an encouraging milestone, but there's plenty more work ahead.
I'm looking forward to continuing to work with local businesses, organizations, and professionals throughout Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island, helping them create meaningful imagery for their brands, events, and projects.
